Dear P.A.C.I. student and family,
Welcome to Prince Albert Collegiate Institute for the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to provide an exceptional learning experience for you and glad you have decided to join our PACI family. We will provide you with an excellent academic, arts, practical and applied arts and phys ed program. We have many extra-curricular activities available to meet all student interests and I encourage students to become involved.
The first day of classes is Tuesday, September 3. The first bell rings at 8:50 a.m. We will begin the day with an important assembly. Students will be given their timetables and then proceed to their first period class for orientation and a question and answer session. Grade 9 students will also have a half-day Fall Orientation on Friday, September 13. There will be team building challenges as well during the first few weeks of school to help with creating a positive high school experience for PACI students.
We have a few items of information to help you.
- Regular attendance is important for success in high school. If you are late or absent, you are expected to have your parents inform the school. We will contact your parents if you have unexplained absences from any of your classes via phone or email. This year we are focusing on improving student attendance and ask parents for help in this area in order to support student learning.
- Student fees will be $60 for the year. This fee assists in covering the cost of special events throughout the year such as guest speakers, extra-curricular activities- sports and arts, locks and lockers, student activities organized by the Student Leadership Council and Dreamcatcher events. School fees can be paid at the office. Grade 9 students are provided with PACI T-shirts and shorts. All students are given a locker and a school lock to use. Only school locks are to be used.
- School pictures are Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
- PACI Family Fall BBQ is on Tuesday, September 17th 4:30 – 6:30, this will provide families a chance to meet staff. Families will have an opportunity to tour and see our continued improvements to the school.
- First semester Student Led Conferences are Thursday, November 14 – 3:30 – 8:30 pm. Please plan to attend, communication between home and school is so important. We encourage you to bring your student with you.
- School newsletters with important dates and information will be sent home bi-monthly. Our website has been upgraded and will be a great source of information for students and parents. The web site address is https://pa.srsd119.ca/
If you have any questions, please contact the school 306-763-6485 or drop in. We will be sure to help as much as possible. PACI office will be open August 19th.
